Tengger desert’s night market (official website)
Zhongwei / Ningxia / China
A little something to celebrate Tengger (or Tenggeli) desert and Zhongwei’s bustling night market. Desert cities mushroom to attract and suck in the few drops of life they can. Neighboring areas’ herders, farmers, miners or chemical workers pouring their passion for moments of relief. Zhongwei makes no exceptions, offering roast lamb, succulent watermelon, halal beers (I know, I know…) and sleazy encounters to locals, whose skin dries faster than the soil they’re working on.
