This is with extreme excitement that Effy By Design unveiled the first designs of their fall fashion collection entitled “Accountable”.
If “Mauving On” was a call of passion, “Accountable” is reason taking over. The fall collection is for women that come Monday morning, open their closet and wonder what to wear to the office. Pass the series of worn out suits, this collection proposes an alternative, with feminine, daring and elegant designs, visually advocating strong values:
Transparency, Reliability & Duty
It’s time to dust office fashion and use our clothing to communicate what we stand for.
Transparency: Nothing to hide!
A moral and physical stand that will be developed through a series of clothing playing on fabric transparency.
The “Open books” dress (on the left) is a leather brassiere elongated by a simple A dress out of brown cut out fabric. Two straps and side zips complete the external design.
Flexible, the dress hides a second layer of material hooked under the brown layer, with several options that can be interchanged (silver, black or colorful layers; that is if it is not removed entirely).
More surprises to come, with skirts and dresses using fabrics that play with light and opacity.
Reliability: Nothing to fear!
A work ethic displayed through a set of designs directly inspired by heavy-duty work outfits.
The “Gofer” (below) is a versatile apron. Reversible, one side makes for an office set with a grey cotton skirt and a light blue shirt. The other side is a deep purple silk dinner dress. The apron is firmly fixed in place with three buckles and a belt.
The “Loyal” top (right & below) is a silver grey office top with decorative pattern and collar line. Dark brown leather suspenders are used as straps to remind partners that it’s time to get ready for business.

Duty: Taking over everything in style!
Leading by example, with feminine clothes challenging yet still playing with the standard of office costumes.
The “Call her” dress is a simple grey cotton dress in the pure tradition of office clothing, with removable and interchangeable collars. Collars can be switched using press on buttons on the front and back.
More to come on the duty line too, with a range of pants as well.

Mauving On?
